Ha. Classic.

Did you know that Amazon.com makes "the classics" available absolutely free for the Kindle? What this means to me is that I will definitely read [the first 2ish chapters of and then forget about] every classic book, from Jane Eyre to The Brothers Karamazov. In today's book, I stumbled across this little number:

"And the man who wrote the note is a German. Do you note the peculiar construction of the sentence-- 'This account of you we have from all quarters received.' A Frenchman or a Russian could not have written that. It is the German who is so uncourteous to his verbs."  -The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

It is somehow comforting to know that even in 1892 people poked fun of the German language. So thanks, Arthur Conan Doyle. And not thanks, Hollywood, because you've taken what my own imagination would have created for Sherlock Holmes and Watson, and replaced it with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. (Hey guys, great movies though, keep it up.)

In other news, it is exactly 4 months until I go home. Is there a social norm about how long is too long for a paper chain?
